David Crowther is a qualified accountant who worked as an accountant, system specialist and general manager in local government, industry and commerce for 20 years.After a number of years in the financial services sector, including a spell in which he set up and ran a store credit card scheme, he decided to leave the business world and become an academic.In 1994, he joined Aston University as a lecturer in accounting.He obtained a PhD from Aston in 1999 for research into corporate performance and reporting before leaving to join the University of North London.He is now Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility at London Metropolitan University, U.K.Also he is an External Professor cum Honorary Advisory Council member of Ansted University.
David is the author of several books and has also contributed over 100 articles to academic, business and professional journals and books.He has also spoken widely at conferences and seminars and acted as a consultant to a wide range of government, professional and commercial organizations.His research is into organizational performance with an emphasis upon social accounting and social responsibility.
