   Christy Crowther, CRNP joined the practice of Chesapeake Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine in 1993. She graduated from the University of Utah College of Nursing with a B.S.N. and the University of Maryland's Graduate School. She holds a Master's degree in primary care. She is nationally certified as a nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Prior to joining COSM, she spent six years as the infectious disease nurse practitioner at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center of the University of Maryland Medical System. Ms. Crowther has been a critical care nurse at both Shock Trauma and the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She has written chapters for pharmacology, pathophysiology, and review texts, as well as several articles for professional publications. Author of the book Primary Orthopaedic Care, she lectures nationally for a variety of nurse practitioner conferences.
   
   Currently, she is also a clinical instructor for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
