   By the early 1980s, the owners made a concerted effort to grow the home care business as Delta's niche and focus, Crownover said, providing software and services for home heath care agencies.
   
   In 1998, the company changed hands when it was bought by Shared Medical Systems Corp. It then was acquired by Siemens AG in 2000.
   
   A few years later, Siemens wanted to sell the company to a large conglomerate that had comparable resources, Crownover said. That's when the original owners realized they wanted to reacquire the company. Financing the deal, however, was another issue.
   
   ‘‘I knew this acquisition made sense, but I didn't initially have a plan to do it. We were able to put together an investment group with financing through a local bank," Crownover said.
   
   ‘‘We went from [being] a small part of a large company to 100 percent dedicated to what we are today â€" focused on home care," he said. ‘‘We have 100 percent control."
