John P. Crowley
John P. ( Jack ) Crowley , senior vice president of finance and administration for the Depository Trust Company , died Monday , March 5 , at Westchester Medical Center. He was 76 years old and a 34-year resident of Dobbs Ferry , New York.
Born in Yonkers on March 15 , 1924 , to Cornelius D. Crowley and Elizabeth Treacy , he was a U.S. Army cryptographer in Okinawa during World War II. Following the war , he received a liberal arts degree from Columbia University in 1949 and an MBA in accounting and finance from New York University in 1951.
He began his career as a certified public accountant with Arthur Young & Company. Prior to joining the Depository Trust Company , he was vice president of finance and administration for the New York Stock Exchange and had also served as the general auditor of Trans World Airlines. He retired in 1989.
