   Chu named Crowley to her staff this week as senior legislative aide, a position Crowley held for State Senator Leland Yee when Yee represented the same Sunset neighborhood as member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

   Colleen Crowley, until recently the mayor's liaison to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, now enjoys her return to the Sunset community she once served as aide to former District 4 Supervisor Leland Yee.
   
   Crowley returns to the neighborhood as newly appointed senior legislative aide to current District 4 Supervisor Carmen Chu.
   
   On Saturday, Chu and Crowley met with constituents at a sunlit community meeting on resident emergency preparedness highlighting the Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) training program.

   "She came to me on that first day and asked if I would like to work with her in her new office," Crowley told the Sentinel.
   
   "And I was pretty thrilled immediately with the idea because I've worked with her in my preparation for issues on Board agendas over this past year and have come to respect her. She's smart and knows a lot about public policy and the City's budget. She's just really pleasant to work with."
   
   Crowley discussed possible job change with Mayor Gavin Newsom.

   San Francisco - Mayor Gavin Newsom today announced that Colleen Crowley would serve as his new Liaison to the Board of Supervisors.

   Crowley was a Legislative Aide for former San Francisco Supervisor Leland Yee where she worked on public policy in a variety of areas including from land use, public safety, and issues relating to the LGBT community.
   
   Colleen is the former Director of Government & Community Relations for City CarShare where she was responsible for and briefing elected officials and community leaders about issues affecting carsharing. Colleen advanced through her role the nonprofit's mission to provide convenient, affordable access to cars in order to reduce car ownership-and improve the environment and quality of life in our cities.
   
   "Colleen's demonstrated experience in public policy and governmental relations has established her as a seasoned public servant and a right fit for this position," noted Mayor Newsom.

   "I'm confident that Colleen will continue to foster a productive relationship between the Mayor's Office and the Board of Supervisor that results in a government working for all San Franciscans," said Newsom.

   Colleen was Co-Editor of North American Rail Transit, a publication a jointly sponsored by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, Association of Bay Area Governments and American Public Transportation Association and was awarded the Safer Communities Award for her work with the North of Market Planning Coalition.
   
   "I look forward to working with Mayor Newsom and the dynamic team he has assembled as well as with the Board of Supervisors, a vibrant body committed to ensuring a responsive government," said Crowley. "I am excited about the prospect of continuing to foster positive relations between the Mayor's Office and the Board that will help establish public policy that is beneficial to all San Franciscans," continued Crowley.
   
   Colleen received her B.S. in Political Science at Santa Clara University and participated in the American University Washington Semester Program and Warsaw University Student Exchange Program.
