   Rainsville veterinarian Dr. Tim Crowell, chairman of the Agri-Center Board, said the completion of the Agri-Center would bring cattle shows, cattle sales, ropings, rodeos, and even a farmers market to the area.

   Dr. Tim Crowell , president of the DeKalb County Cattleman's Association , said they have been working for two to three years on the project.
   
   This is a joint venture between the city , the Cattleman's Association and Sen. Barron , said Crowell.

   Crowell also said that the Cattleman's Association will be having fund-raising events to help fund the effort.
   
   Ledbetter said it has been mentioned about making the lobby area of the facility into a place children could come for after-school and summer activities , maybe along the lines of a YMCA.
   
   Earlier in the year , the city sold the Rainsville Civic Center to the DeKalb Board of Education , and Ledbetter said the sale of the civic center is enabling this project.
   
   The agri-center will belong to the city of Rainsville and will fall under the Parks and Recreation Department. That board which was over the civic center , said Ledbetter , has some money put back in the bank , and I think they would be willing to put that money into this project.
