   Laura Crowell is in her 11th year as Southwest Minnesota State head athletic trainer. Crowell joined the Mustang staff in 1996 as an assistant trainer, before assuming the head athletic trainer position in the fall of 1997. Crowell earned her bachelor's degree in physical education with specialization in athletic training and her master's degree in higher education from Iowa State University. Prior to her arrival at SMSU, Crowell taught at Northwest Iowa Community College. As head trainer, Crowell leads full-time and student trainers as well as overseeing the entire athletic training program and facilities at SMSU. Laura, and her husband Scott, live in Marshall, and have four daughters.
