   John Crowell, 52, of Windom died Jan. 15, 2003, at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato following a battle with cancer.
   
   Services were held Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Windom with Rev. Arthur Miller officiating.

   Following graduation, John farmed with his family.
   
   In 1978, John married Jodell "Jodie" Petersen in Hawaii on Valentines Day. John continued farming with his family - his father, Bob; grandfather, Harold; and uncle, "Babe" - until the mid 1980s, when he and Jodie moved to Denver, Colo.
   
   In 1992, John and Jodie moved back to Windom. John became owner/operator of his own grain-hauling, semi-tractor and trailer.
   
   John and Jodie enjoyed their time together and their home on Cottonwood Lake. Their "Lake Room" was of particular comfort during John's battle with cancer as they watched life on the lake.
   
   John was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, serving as president in 2000.
   
   He also enjoyed reading western novels, especially Louis La'Mour books. For the past 20 years, he has been a collector of Louis La'Mour first editions.
   
   John was preceded in death by his father, Clyde "Bob" Crowell.
