John D. Crowell is a Senior Claims Consultant in the Environmental/Mass Tort Claims Department at American Re-Insurance Company.Mr. Crowell is responsible for environmental/pollution, asbestos, lead paint, fenfluramine/phentermine and multiple contract period claims involving complex coverage issues.He also participates on and consults on operational reviews, due diligence reviews related to merger and acquisitions and case reserve analyses.

Before joining American Re in 1997, Mr. Crowell worked for USF&G and Royal Insurance Co. as an Account Executive with their Asbestos/Long Term Exposure Units.During his tenure with these companies, Mr. Crowell was responsible for handling complex and high exposure environmental, asbestos, chemical and lead paint cases.He was also responsible for handling complex coverage litigation as well as financial institution bond and director's and officer's claims.Prior to that Mr. Crowell practiced law for both plaintiff and insurance defense law firms and worked for Combustion Engineering managing their asbestos exposure.

Mr. Crowell holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tennessee, Martin and a Master of Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.He received his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University and is member of the Oklahoma and Connecticut Bars.
