Equities (forecast by Michael Crowe, senior managing director, Equity Management) "We expect that earnings growth will slow to about 8% in 2007 and total returns for the S&P will be moderate, somewhere in the range of 8% to 10%.Corporate profit margins will see a decrease from the record highs reached in 2006.Large caps will outperform small caps and growth stocks will outperform value for the first time in a number of years.Merger and acquisition activity will continue unabated with deals potentially growing in size and quantity.Overall, equities may face stiff competition form 10-year bonds on a total-return, risk-adjusted basis in 2007."
