   C&D Technologies (NYSE: CHP), has announced the appointment of Brian Crowe as General Manager of its Tucson/Nogales Business Unit, effective immediately.
   
   Brian will have complete P&L responsibilities for C&D's operations in Tucson, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. In addition, Brian will assume overall leadership of the Power Manufacturing Services business, including the sales and marketing functions.
   
   Employing 390 employees, the Tucson and Nogales operations encompass over 125,000 square feet of manufacturing space, with capabilities in design, testing, electronics assembly, SMT assembly, procurement and sourcing. Major markets serviced by the business unit include office equipment, telecommunication, wireless, aerospace, medical and industrial.
   
   Brian joined C&D Technologies in 1999 following C&D's acquisition of the Specialty Battery Division of Johnson Controls, Inc. In January of 2001, he joined C&D's Power Electronics Division as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Brian played a major role in the growth of the Power Electronics Division, especially during the period when C&D was integrating the businesses of three acquisitions, Datel, Celab and the former Celestica Power Systems 'CPS'. Brian brings to the GM role an in depth understanding of the Tucson / Nogales operations, employees, products and customers.
   
   Before joining C&D, Brian spent over eight years with General Signal Corporation operating units of best Power Technologies and Sola / Hevi-Duty Electric, in various sales and marketing capacities.
