Beth Crowe, owner of Good Earth Gardens, says she decided to open the business when she returned to Cleveland following her husband's occupation.
Crowe, who formerly worked for Garden Works in Jackson, says she has always enjoyed growing and nurturing plants. "I actually have a degree in Psychology," she smiles, "but I went to Garden Works because this is what I truly enjoy doing. I learned a great deal while I was there," she says. Crowe also adds that all of the plants she keeps in stock are shipped or picked up from Garden Works. "They are from the Rising Sun growers portion," she explains.

"I try to keep a good selection of hard to find perennials," says Crowe in reference to her inventory. "People also look for Medallion Winners and other hearty plants that fair well in our southern climate."
One more unique aspect of the business is its seasonal nature. "Generally we open following the last frost and close about a week after Mother's Day," says Crowe. Crowe also says that her location has played a key role in the success of her business.
