   Doug was raised on a family farm in Washington County.He graduated from universities in Oregon and California, did service with the U.S. Army in Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam (1967) and worked in Washington, D.C. and New York City, before settling in the Gorge.His career in business has involved private enterprise, government and teaching.In 1998, he was appointed by the Governor of Oregon to the Oregon Investment Board established by the Gorge Scenic Act.He resides in Mosier on a small farm with his wife, Kathy, Wags the Dog and a few chickens.
