   Prior to joining the firm, David played fiddle with bluegrass legends the Osborne Brothers and was an instrumental recording artist for Pinecastle Records. In addition, he is a partner in two publishing companies that have a strong focus on bluegrass music. David has served as the president and chairman of the board of directors of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). He is a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), the American Federation of Musicians Local 257 and the Americana Music Association (AMA). During the fall semester of 2005, David was an adjunct instructor of music business at the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business at Belmont University teaching Intellectual Property.
   
   David received his B.B.A. in music business management (magna cum laude) from Belmont University in 1996, and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2000. His paper "Taxonomies: The Proper Scope of Copyright Protection" won first prize in ASCAP's Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition at Vanderbilt Law School. David has been a frequent panelist and speaker on the subject of entertainment law at the IBMA World of Bluegrass convention and tradeshow. David is a member of the 2006 class of Leadership Music.
