As A Crow Flies Productions is a small independent web site design company run by designer Alana Crow.The company specializes in designing custom marketing web sites (aka: online brochures) for small to medium sized businesses at a reasonable price.

Alana started As A Crow Flies Productions in January of 1998, after several contacts approached her to design their company's web sites.Before then Alana had worked for a variety of companies on a freelance basis working with graphics and in production work.She also worked for several companies including Wells Fargo Bank of San Francisco designing Powerpoint presentations.

Alana continues to freelance for outside companies, working with teams in production work, graphics design and editing as well as Powerpoint presentations.

Alana Crow on the Great WallAlana's first career goal was to be a prima ballerina, but when she did not grow quite tall enough it was time to leap down another path.She decided to continue her creative pursuits, entering the acting profession.She headed off to the glitter of "Hollywood" where she met with a fair amount of success.

After over 10 years of "paying her dues", she burnt out on the superficiality and politics of the industry.She discovered that she needed a more down to earth life style.So, she went in search of a more "normal" life.Though she has left the "roar of the greasepaint" behind, her life still is far from normal, just a lot more down to earth!

Alana started out developing her computer skills for the office environment, even finding herself back in Hollywood for a couple of years in production.But, something was missing and that was the lack of creativity in her life.Several years ago she realized that if she blended her creative side with her computer skills, she would be far happier!That is how she ended up where she is today.

Web design and desktop publishing have expanded her wings, opening up a whole new world of possibilities!She has even found herself in the magnificent country of Norway for several exciting assignments.

Personally, Alana is a very active person who loves travel and the outdoors.Last couple of years she enjoyed visiting Russia, Scandinavia, China, South America and South East Asia.She loves hiking, scuba diving, cross-country skiing and cycling, just to name a few athletic activities she enjoys.She is also an avid photographer and incorporated many of her photos into her projects.

Speaking of cycling, she joined Team in Training and rode 100 miles around Lake Tahoe and raised money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.Alana ended up riding more than 3000 miles in 2002.

Initially web design started as a hobby and self promotion tool for Alana in 1997, while she was trying to obtain contract work in Norway (a country she fell in love with back in the mid 80's).

Alana's background is in the arts which includeds theatre, ballet and film.She has now incorporated her past artistic skills with her computer knowledge and love of photography and natural asthetic sense, to design attractive user-friendly sites.

Alana decided to start As A Crow Flies Productions after several contacts approached her to design their company's web sites.Before then Alana had worked for a variety of companies on a freelance basis in graphics editing and web production work, and designing business presentations; while taking design and coding classes through San Francisco State's Multimedia Program to hone her skills.

Alana occasionally freelances for outside companies, working with teams in production work, graphics design and editing.She also continues to design PowerPoint presentations for several of her clients.

The company specializes in designing custom marketing web sites for small to medium sized businesses as well as non-profit organizations for a reasonable price.This is achieved by Alana working from her home office so she has less overhead costs to pass on to her customers.
