Eugenia L. Crouse-Burgess
ELYRIA, Ohio - Eugenia L. Wise Crouse-Burgess, 80, of Elyria, Ohio, died May 19, 2004, at Elyria United Methodist Village following a lengthy illness. She had been a resident there for two and a half years.
She was born in St. Albans, W.Va., and had been an Elyria resident for 19 years. She had previously lived in West Virginia and Kentucky. She was a 1941 graduate of Fayetteville High School, Fayetteville, W.Va. She worked as a Civil Service employee for the U.S. Air Force where she established and managed the commissary in Cape Charles, Va. She was also self-employed as a seamstress and an upholsterer. She retired in 1985 from Ephraim McDowell Hospital, Danville, Ky., where she was the food service coordinator. She was a member of Fayetteville Presbyterian Church and the VFW Post, both in Fayetteville, W.Va. She was a pilot and enjoyed flying. She also enjoyed bird watching, cooking, canning, hunting, raising dogs, quilting, needlework and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
