"We are certainly finding ever-increasing interest in the area from our exhibitors and potential visitors to the Seventh International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference - Incorporating Refining and Petrochemicals (Baku, Azerbaijan, 6-9 June)," says Susan Crouch, chief executive of PGI Spearhead, organisers of the show, held in partnership with the Azerbaijan Chamber of Trade and Industry. "Our highly topical conference programme is now in place, and we look forward to welcoming government ministers and senior officials from all interested counties, as well as representatives of oil and gas industry companies and organisations from all around the world." Since the first Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference took place in 1994, this annual event has been established internationally as a very important vehicle for companies and organisations wishing to do business in the Caspian Region. The number of participating companies has steadily increased from 150 companies from 12 countries in 1994 to a peak in 1998 of 431 companies from 30 countries, attracting a global audience of fifteen and a half thousand from forty-seven countries.

    MORE ON U.S. POSITION

"It will be a packed three days in the conference, but we know that all who attend, whether for the whole event or merely for a single session will find time spent at the event extremely worthwhile," says Susan Crouch. "All three sessions are on highly topical issues, and our speakers are key stakeholders in the industry and certainly of the calibre to attract large audiences."

    THE EXHIBITION

Exhibiting companies at this year's event already come from Azerbaijan, Canada, Croatia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Liechtenstein, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, UK, and USA, with more countries expected to figure on the list shortly. All the major operators involved in the Region have taken space.
