  Since we had more damage than normal due to our exhaust problems, it was going to take a lot of hard work for our main technician to get the car back to the shop, repair it, prepare it, and get it to Pennsylvania on time," said co-driver Scott Crouch.

  Scott tried to call the notes loud enough for me to hear so we could complete the stage and try to make repairs, but it was hard to listen to the notes and concentrate on driving without the intercom working.

  Scattered rain storms and overcast skies greeted the teams on the morning of Leg Two.After a brief Parc Expose in downtown Shelton, WA, the teams set out to complete the morning loop of stages.Despite finishing Leg One with competitive stage times the string of bad luck that had put the Flatirons duo out of first place in class returned on the first stage of the morning."About half way through Stage 11 we started to lose turbo boost and had to switch the car to the low boost setting, giving up precious horsepower and losing time.On Stage 12 it became evident we had damaged our exhaust on some of the rough sections at some point and had an exhaust leak that was robbing us of power.Also a few miles into the stage we were forced to stop with electrical damage which caused the engine to shut down," stated Crouch.

  Driver Tanner Foust and co-driver Scott Crouch decided to attempt to drive smart on the Portland International Raceway stages.

  After building up a comfortable margin in the earlier stages Foust and Crouch decided to "take it down a notch" and make sure that they made it to the end of the day with out damaging the car.

  Matthew Johnson also made a resurgent effort as both finished ahead of Foust and Crouch.

  Foust and Crouch took the stage class win but both rival drivers Langbien and Johnson finished within 4 seconds proving their pace and determination.

  Despite the transmission problems Langbien and Wimpey did however finish Saturday second in class and 54.1 seconds behind Foust and Crouch.

  When asked about the teams new plans, co-driver Scott Crouch stated, "After our big crash at the Cog Rally (see the video at http://FlatironsRally.com) our old car was destroyed.
