   BYRON CROSTHWAITE REMEMBERED
   
   A True Measure of a Man Byron Crosthwaite was the true measure of all that is good in humans. He set a standard in honesty, integrity and personal responsibility that all should strive to achieve. He asked no favors, sought no unearned edge. He participated in his family, his business, his industry, his community and his church. He aided his fellow man. He shirked no duty. The construction industry is short one good man. We will miss Byron.

   Byron was President of PBC Builders, Inc. and a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia. He was awarded Home Builder of the Year in 1989.
   
   Among the surviving are his wife, Joyce Rowe Crosthwaite ; son, Perry Crosthwaite ; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Katherine Crosthwaite, all of Columbia.
   
   COUNCIL MEMBERS TEAM UP TO BUILD RAMPS FOR THOSE IN NEED.
   
   In an effort to follow the lead of the National Remodelorsä Council, the Remodelorsä Council of Greater Columbia is participating in National Home Remodeling Month (May) by helping in the construction five wheelchair ramps for individuals in Columbia.
   
   Rotary Club Chapter 7770 in Columbia and USC's SCSIS program are heading up the ramp project. The Richland County Sheriff's Department and members of the Remodelorsä Council are physically building the ramps. Construction of the first ramp was done on the morning of Tuesday, May 23rd.
