Robert A. Crossley arrived at East Bay Mental Health Center on December 4th to assume the position of Chief Executive Officer. He will replace John P. Digits, Jr. who is retiring from the Center, effective December 31st, after 33 years of service.
Mr. Crossley came to the Center from Gateway Healthcare, Inc., where he was the Chief Operating Officer/Vice President of Adult Services. He held clinical and leadership positions throughout his eighteen years at Gateway, as well as within several other non-profit behavioral healthcare organizations. His clinical range of experience includes both adult and children's services, and he has a solid administrative background. He began his work on the frontlines in a group home for adolescents who were abusing drugs and alcohol and who were involved in the criminal justice system and progressively worked his way up to Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Crossley received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Roger Williams College. Later, he completed a Master of Arts in Agency Counseling at Rhode Island College. Mr. Crossley enjoys teaching and has been an Instructor of Psychology and Business Administration at Community College of Rhode Island (Warwick) since 1983.
Mr. Crossley believes that the foundation of successful organization is a "culture of respect." Through his extensive work in the mental health field, he has discovered that "relationship is everything in the change process." Therefore, he looks forward to working collaboratively with the clinicians and staff at East Bay Mental Health Center to empower and assist clients in "achieving recovery and the quality of life they want." -
