Donna Oswald, Clerk of the Courts and Steve Crossland, Court Administrator of 1st Judicial District appeared before the board, Commissioner Oswald left the meeting, Donna talked to the board about purchasing a new software for budgetary, cost of software would be $3000.00, and to take this from the county general Capitol Outlay fund under courts, Commissioner Bishop made a motion to approve the $3000 software request, Chairman Wagner second the motion and called for a vote, both voted aye, motion carried.

Steve Crossland, court administrator for the First Judicial District, said clerks had begun scanning every document after Jan. 1, 2007, but the number of pages has made it difficult to complete the task.Clerks have yet to begin scanning any back documents.

Crossland also said that documents will always need to be retrieved from storage in Hutchinson; the district court must retain documents for four years.

Board received a letter from Steve Crossland, Court Administrator telling the board that there will be a meeting on February 8th at 2:30 pm in the Atchison County Courtroom concerning security at the courthouse.
