Walter Franklin Cross, 96, Red Bay, Ala., died July 15, 2002, at Iuka Hospital.
He was a native of Mississippi and was retired as owner of Western Auto in Red Bay after 30 years. Mr. Cross was a member and deacon of New Union Missionary Baptist Church for more than 70 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alma Cross, in 1994; and a daughter, Dorothy Angeline Casteel, in 1983.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002, at New Union Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Isaacs and the Rev. John Johnston officiating. Burial will be in Halltown Cemetery.
