   Dennis has more than 30 years of business litigation experience in markets including Kansas City, New York City and Washington, D.C. His background includes extensive experience in antitrust, trade regulation and administrative law. Before coming to Kansas City, he was associated with the firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York and served as Assistant General Counsel for Litigation at the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. His practice has included antitrust, consumer protection, contract, fraud, business tort, RICO and First Amendment litigation. He is co-chair of the firm's Antitrust and Appellate Litigation Groups.

   Dennis was Assistant General Counsel for Litigation at the Federal Trade Commission from 1977 to 1982. In that position, he was responsible for all of the FTC's litigation in federal court, managing a staff of 15 to 20 senior (GS-14 and 15) litigation attorneys. He represented the FTC in antitrust and consumer protection cases against companies in energy, tobacco, food, health care, retailing and entertainment industries among others. He received the FTC's Superior Service Award for his service in this position.
   
   Since joining Stinson Morrison Hecker, he has represented corporate and other clients in complex antitrust and business litigation. A notable example was his representation of a class of assistant basketball coaches in a successful antitrust suit against the NCAA challenging its restrictions on coaches' compensation. He is consulted frequently on antitrust issues in health care, pharmaceuticals, agricultural products, retailing, distribution and other areas.

   Dennis has lectured and appeared on panels sponsored by the ABA Antitrust Section, the New York and Ohio State Bar Associations, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the National Business Institute, the Public Relations Society of America and the University of Missouri. He has taught antitrust law and trial advocacy at the University of Kansas School of Law. He is active in the American Bar Association's Antitrust Law Section and a contributor to Antitrust Law Developments. He was formerly Vice Chair of the Sports, Labor and Entertainment Industry Committee of the Antitrust Law Section and was honored by the section in 2000 for organizing and editing a special edition of Antitrust Magazine devoted to the business of sports. He is now an associate editor of Antitrust Magazine.
   
   He is listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who in American Law. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Antitrust Law.
   
   Community Involvement
   
   Dennis served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966, reaching the rank of lieutenant. He has been active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years, having served as Scoutmaster and Troop Committee Chairman for Troop 50 in Kansas City and currently serving as Chairman of the Pioneer Trails District Committee. He has received the Boy Scouts' District Award of Merit.
   
   He also participates as a Blue and Gold Officer in the Naval Academy Information Program, providing information and assistance to applicants and prospective applicants for appointments to the U.S. Naval Academy.
