Accept by Phone was founded by Kevin Cross, of Accept by Phone, Inc, located in Hilliard, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus.

He's been in business in the merchant industry for several years (since 1995).

He founded "Accept by Phone" in early 2004 (incorporated in 2005), because he saw a real void in the merchant industry.It was, for the most part, far too expensive for small or mobile businesses - and solo professionals - to accept credit cards.

The answer: Create a way for practically anyone to be able to accept credit cards by simply using a touchtone phone (bypassing recurring monthly fees, annual fee, cancellation fees, equipment cost of a traditional merchant account, etc.)
