Russell Crichton joined S&J in 1997 at the relatively mature age of 37.An economics graduate, he is an experienced institutional fund manager having spent his earlier career at Murray Johnstone and Norwich Union.His prime interests outside the firm are his family, various sports and new hobbies such as bridge and curling.

In addition to advising and managing varied client portfolios Russell is the director responsible for training - an increasingly important facet of the business.

Russell was born in 1960 and graduated from the University of Wales in Cardiff with a degree in economics. Russell worked in the institutional fund management industry for 10 years. He was a fund manager with Murray Johnstone and then Norwich Union before joining S&J in 1997. He became a Director in 1999.

Outside S&J, Russell is actively involved in the management of several charities. He is a Governor of St. Columba's School, Kilmacolm and the Late Collector of the Incorporation of Hammermen of Glasgow.
