  At the invitation of Patrick Crichton, the IAJE Executive Board's Australasia Representative, I had the honor and pleasure of teaching and performing in Australia for several weeks this past June and July.

  The jazz department has an excellent reputation and was started by A/Prof Patrick Crichton, who is now Director of Music, and has been a senior IAJE Office Bearer for many years.I have also copied this to Pat, and I am sure that he will put us right if I have mistrepresented anything.

  Pat,s amazing efforts were formally recognised when he was presented with a plaque honouring his contribution to Jazz education as part of the final awards presentation at this year,s Schools Jazz Ensemble Festival.
