Nick divides his time between work as as freelance guardian ad litem and as a private hypno-psychotherapist.Previously, he was employed in Social Work (Mental Health), ultimately as an Area Team Officer.

Following his degree from Queens University Belfast, he went on to study in the Social Sciences and was awarded a Certificate of Qualification in Social Work.Currently, he is undertaking an MSc in Mental Health Social Work at the University of Manchester.He was trained by the NCHP and is a member of the NRHP.

His hypno-psychotherapy work, with both adults and children, is mainly short-term with an emphasis on cognitive behavioural therapy.He is registered with the UKCP.
