Sad to say Alan that there is no sympathiser representation on the panel on Saturday night.

From: Alan Crichton [rcr87285@bigpond.net.au] 22 Apr 08 Hi Brad, A small article in the Sunday Mail caught my eye about an amnesty plan for the return of Ned's skull that was knocked off from the Melbourne Gaol Exhibit years ago. (Might I just add, a touching gesture on the Victorian Government's part.) They want to reunite his skull with the rest of the poor buggers bones they think they've finally found.

From: Alan Crichton [rcr87285@bigpond.net.au] 12 Nov 07 Well my wife has returned from her business trip and the American Au Pair girl (nickname Bubbles) has quickly returned home. I was wondering if there are any readers out there who are having any trouble with their spouses regarding the amount of time they spend on the Ned Kelly story? My wife seems to think I do. She's told me that she would prefer to go driving on the weekends rather than sitting at home while I read Kelly books and scan the sites. With this in mind, I purchased for her a brand new ride on mower, (might I add at great expense) to replace the old push mower she normally uses. The surprise did not go over as well as I might have expected, even with the added expense of a grass catcher to avoid the raking she has to do. I have taken her on holidays twice a year for the last four years to Victoria, to visit all the Kelly locations and events, but she tells me it's still not enough.

As I previously mentioned to Alan, there were 4 versions made.

And to Alan, great comeback mate, have to give you 10 out of 10 for that one.
    ...
If Alan will be willing to have a bit of a yak, then Brad, consider yourself invited. If not, the invitation is open to you. BTW, where you the bloke that held the microphone up to me at the special screening of Besieged, The Ned Kelly Story documentary at the Arts and Entertainment Centre? The bloke who did looked, really friendly until I opened my mouth and then he had this horrified look on his face when he realized who it was? Sorry mate, I had to ask. Not me. It must have been another good looking Andre Agassi type at the screening, as I couldn't sit through another fake beard episode after seeing in at Glenrowan a few years back

Alan, as someone who has written books and retelling the Kelly story to school kids, it is imperative that you do your research and get it right. As a relative newcomer (2002) to the Kelly saga, you may have missed the Great Debate section of this website regarding accent.

Dear Mr. Webb, I was horrified to read in your feedback section that you were even thinking of dropping Alan Crichton's wonderful, informative, fantastic and bestest section in the whole wide world, Keep Ya Powder Dry . Alan has sacrificed his valuable time to always give you his bestest. You may not be aware Mr. Webb, but at this very moment i'm... er... i mean Alan Crichton is in Queensland, sweating and strolling the beaches of Surfers Paradise interviewing and seeking out more informative stories of Ned Kelly for his readers.

Alan, an article well researched, showing both sides of the coin. I did like your facts and figures... The three boys did make a mistake and took the lives of 3 Policemen,( it is never right to take the life of another human being) BUT, we should also look at the bigger picture... thanks.

A Product of Their Time? From: Airi [repettI@ozemail.com.au] 26 Aug 09 Thank you Alan for a most illuminating article A Product Of Their Time? I had in mind to have a look through those Gazettes myself but never seem to find the time and now you have saved me the trouble. I will print out your article to keep with my Kelly books for easy reference. It is not really that hard to believe what Frank Clune hints at, that Fitzpatrick being sent to Greta may have been a deliberate ploy on the part of his bosses who were fully aware of his character.

From: Alan Crichton [rcr87285@bigpond.net.au] 03 Jul 09 Dear Mr. Webb, I would like to take but a moment to thank you for bringing two old schoolboy chums together after more than forty odd years. I received an email recently asking if I was the same Alan Crichton who attended a certain primary and high school back in the early 60s and the athletic fellow who excelled all boys in sport.

After the goaling of the Sympathisers and the denying of selection to local farmers, Ned fought against the institutions that in Kelly's eyes opressed all !!" Yes, the mysterious Captain rivals our own Mr Crichton as a true wordsmith...
