Alastair Creamer, producer, Project Catalyst, Lever Faberge
'Catalyst is about shifting the culture at Lever Faberge.'
Alastair Creamer is the creator and producer of the Catalyst project at Lever Faberge, part of Unilever.He studied music at Durham and later worked with the BBC, the Aldeburgh Festival and was Managing Director of the Black Heath Halls.He has been Arts Sponsorship Manager for Sainsbury's and the Dean at the London College of Music & Media.He created, and is now running, Catalyst.
Catalyst was launched in April 2000 as a direct response to Unilever's drive to establish an enterprise culture across the business.It addresses and solves business issues through working with artists and arts organisations.It aims to challenge people within the company (and therefore the company itself) to maximise their own creative potential.In its first year 82% of the company interacted with the project which currently includes workshops, training, residencies, volunteering opportunities, small creative team work, a creative library, set-piece events and an art collection.Catalyst will be launched at Birds Eye Wall's in 2002.
