Heidi Corwin joined the American Institutes for Research as a Research Assistant in June 2001. Currently, she is working on the Elementary and Middle Schools Teaching Assistance Center (EMSTAC) and a literature review investigating the use of education technology and distance learning in teaching secondary AP courses.
Prior to employment at AIR, Heidi worked at the Dekalb County Child Advocacy Office in Decatur, Georgia where she investigated child abuse and deprivation cases through interviewing children and foster parents, writing legal briefs and reviewing video taped testimonies. Heidi also spent a semester in London where she worked as a counselor in an inpatient therapeutic community with adolescents suffering from drug and alcohol addictions, depression, and mood disorders.
Heidi received her B.A. in psychology from Emory University in 2001. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Psi Chi honor societies. In her senior year at Emory, Heidi served as the president of SHAPE, the student health alliance of peer educators, where she led programs in nutrition and stress reduction in freshman dorms and organized campus events in collaboration with the health services department.
