Northwest Ohio native Heather Corwin is assisting the region for Ohio's 200th birthday as the Ohio Bicentennial Commission's Northwest Regional Representative.
A native of Swanton in Fulton County, Corwin will help assist Regional Coordinator Beth Hansen in communities and organizations in a 26-county district plan their participation in Ohio's Bicentennial in 2003.
Corwin will operate from an office in One Government Center, Suite 800 in Toledo. The Lucas County Commissioners helped to facilitate the office space.
"I am proud to help showcase the many accomplishments of the Northwest Ohio region in Ohio's history. I look forward to helping coordinate events and activities throughout the region for Ohio's upcoming birthday in 2003," Corwin said.
The first to graduate in the office coordinator program of Owens Community College, Corwin received an associate of applied business degree with honors (Kappa Beta Delta), while working full-time for National Flight Services, Inc. While at National Flight Services, Inc. Corwin coordinated special events and served as a customer service representative for pilots and customers.
Corwin also interned in the Lucas County Auditor's Office, where she was involved with special projects in the Data Processing Department.
Corwin will be working in concert with the three Ohio Bicentennial Commission members who reside and work in Northwest Ohio. The members are: Jo Ann Achor, executive assistant to the Lucas County Auditor; Jo Anne Montgomery, a retired teacher in the Lake Local School District; and Ralph Johnson, retired editorial director of the Toledo Blade.
Corwin will be serving the following 26 counties: Allen, Auglaize, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Huron, Logan, Lucas, Marion, Mercer, Morrow, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Shelby, Van Wert, Williams, Wood, and Wyandot.
