   Rhonda Corvese is a Toronto-based independent curator and an Assistant Curator at the Art Gallery of York University (AGYU).Her curatorial projects often evolve in response to situations, where she strives to challenge the role of the curator, artist and audience in the presentation and engagement of contemporary art.She is fundamentally interested in exploring the dialogue between curator and artist in the creation of new work that exists beyond the gallery space and in the examination of contemporary Canadian art within an international framework.

   Michelle Jacques, Rhonda Corvese and Camilla Singh began to think about this weekend's Scotiabank Nuit Blanche only after they better understood what had happened last year.

The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters, the ominous-sounding omnibus title she's chosen, promises scenes of mock alien invasions at the University of Toronto and a fabricated real estate company that will happily sell you a two-bedroom condo attached to the side of the CN Tower.
   
   Jacques's area (Zone B) around the AGO and Chinatown has been her own stomping ground for years. Her 10 commissioned artists are intent on "invoking histories, suspending time or traversing geographies." The curator calls her zone At the Corner of Time and Space.
