EDUARDO CORTES is Chief Investment Officer with Global Investment Advisors ("GIA") and has day to day responsibility for portfolio construction, asset allocation and security selection. The Global Investment Advisors Division of Reich & Tang, established in August 1999, evolved from Global Investment Advisors, LLC which Mr. Cortes set up in 1998 where he launched the GIA Global High Yield Fund, LLC a fixed income fund investing across various higher yielding markets. Previously, Mr. Cortes was a portfolio manager in the fixed income group at J.P. Morgan Investment Management, Inc. where he was responsible for dollar and non-dollar fixed income portfolios. From 1993-1998, he created and led the Emerging Market Debt portfolio team whose funds grew to more than $4 billion in assets. He was also a member of the Cross-Sector Strategy Team and the Emerging Market Equity/Debt allocation team. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Mr. Cortes worked on debt restructuring for Latin American sovereigns at Citibank. Mr. Cortes received a BA from Stanford University in 1979 and an MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1983. -
