Thomas J. Cortazzo a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, earned his Bachelor of Public Administration Degree summa cum laude from Loyola university, where he attended on a four-year academic scholarship.He received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Loyola University School of Law in 1987, where he was a member of the Loyola Law Review and served as Comment/Casenote Editor of the Law Review.

Tom has been practicing law for more than 15 years.His practice consists of litigation in courts and administrative tribunals and other forms of dispute resolutions such as arbitration and mediation.His experience ranges from various forms of commercial litigation to casualty and insurance matter.

Currently, Tom is a member of the New Orleans , Louisiana State, American and Federal Bar Associations.He has lectured on varied legals topics to lawyers, business groups and schools, as well as authored numerous legal publications.He also stays active in the community, currently including service as a member of the New Orleans Public Schools Partnership in Education Steering Committee, the Archbishop Shaw High School Alumni Association, and is a long term member of the Rotary Club of Carrollton (in New Orleans) in which he has held various positions of leadership including President and is currently on the Board of Directors.

Tom's practice is primarily in business litigation, and he has particular experience with insurance coverage issues and environmental law.He graduated summa cum laude, College of Business Administration, from Loyola University of New Orleans, and graduated from Loyola University School of Law where he was a member of the Loyola Law Review.He served as Comment/Casenote Editor of the Law Review and as a teaching assistant in the Moot Court Program.He was admitted to the Louisiana bar in 1987.

Tom is a member of the New Orleans Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association (Environmental Law, Corporation and Business Law, and the Insurance, Negligence, Compensation and Admiralty Law Sections), American Bar Association (Business Law, Tort and Insurance Practice and Litigation Sections), and the Federal Bar Association.

Tom has lectured on environmental and insurance issues for business law classes at the University of New Orleans and has spoken on business and insurance legal matters for professional groups.Tom authored the chapter on Environmental Law of the Louisiana State Bar Association's Manual of Recent Developments in the Law for the past nine years.He has also lectured on insurance coverage at National Business Institute seminars.He is a member of the Carrollton Rotary Club in New Orleans, in which he has served in various leadership positions and is currently President, and he is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.He is also an appointed member of the Archbishop Shaw High School Development Committee and an elected member of the St. Clement of Rome School Board.
