SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Gene Corsale has been named the 2003 Senior Citizen of the Year by the Saratoga Springs Rotary Club.
He was recognized at a luncheon ceremony Wednesday afternoon at Longfellow's Inn and Restaurant.
Married for 43 years, Corsale and his wife, Barbara, have two daughters and three grandchildren.He retired as Real Property Tax director and has devoted himself to a variety of community causes on the West Side and to his interest in history.
Corsale is chairman of the Saratoga County Honor-a-Deceased Veteran program, which has monthly ceremonies at the county municipal building.He also has worked on restoration projects at Saint Peter's War Memorial and the Gideon Putnam Cemetery.He promotes railroad safety education through Operation Lifesaver and serves on the Board of Directors for the Saratoga Springs Federal Credit Union, the Preservation Society, Korean War Vets Association, Bridge Line Historical Society and the West Side Neighborhood Association.
Corsale also wrote the master plan for the West Side Neighborhood
