Maggie Corrigan, Teacher & Director
...
Maggie Corrigan of Baile Glas Irish Dancers Maggie Corrigan is the Director of Baile Glas Irish Dancers. She grew up with Irish dancing in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. Her Irish grandparents immigrated from County Donegal, Ireland, in 1928, with two young daughters. They lived in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, and the family grew with four more children. Her mother, born in Seattle, kept the Irish dance traditions celebrated at family parties.
For Maggie, the spark of Irish dance continued with years of classes, and performances with Jetta Commins school, and the Cail Aine dance group of the late 1970's. Later, she studied with visiting teachers to Seattle including Ron Plummer, ADCRG, (Plummer Studios), and Patricia Hall ADCRG, (McTeggart School of Irish Dance). Maggie helped establish the Baile Glas Irish Dancers as a performing group in 1989 with fellow dance enthusiast, Jim Dinan, TCRG.
