The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced that Larry Corrigan has been named Special Assistant to the General Manager.

Corrigan, 57, has spent the last 20 years as a member of the Minnesota Twins Baseball Operations Department.His most recent role with the Twins came as a Special Assistant to General Manager Terry Ryan from 1999-2007, where he was a key member of a front office staff that helped the club capture four division titles.

Corrigan began his association with Minnesota in 1987 as the West Coast Scouting Supervisor.He was then promoted to Director of Scouting for the Twins from 1992-1993, where the club tabbed outfielder Torii Hunter as their first round pick in the 1993 draft.He also served the Twins as the club's Minor League Field Coordinator from 1994-1998.
