   Edmund E. "Gene" Corrigan of Holbrook, a sheet metal worker and veteran, died Sunday at Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton following a lengthy illness. He was 75.
   
   Born in Randolph, he was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Boston. He lived in Holbrook for more than 50 years.
   
   An Army veteran of World War II, he was stationed in Japan, where he played on the American baseball team.
   
   For more than 30 years, he was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union.
   
   Mr. Corrigan was a member of the American Legion Old Dorchester Post.
