Steve Corrieri
VP Training Development
...
In the fall of there U 10 season in 2002 I approached Steve Corrieri about coming down and working with the team, in which he accepted do to once a week.We continued this for the next 3 yrs until I retired from coaching.
During this time the Flames turned into the most successful team to ever come out of the Yorkana Club.
Steve quickly started to work on there first touches, vision, staying in formation, and shooting. The kids were so excited that they were looking forward to practice and having fun learning. The parents instead of dropping the kids of and leaving started to stay and watch to see what the kids were talking about, and were so impressed what they were seeing, continued season after season to ask me to get Steve back., in which of course I did.
The seasons that followed were quiet, incredible losing once in league play in 3 yrs. winning the York Cups top bracket, finishing second to a Premier team Super Nova the following, year and playing in the top bracket in Hempfield and finishing 3rd,for a club team that at tryouts the most we had were 17 kids this was awesome..
Steve not only taught the kids soccer ,he would also get on the ones that need it about school work, and not being able to play if there grades weren't up.
Steve is not only a great trainer for these kids but a great role model for them to look up to.

As the years went by, the Jaguars' skills developed even more as they attended the UK Soccer camps, and benefited from occasional visits by Coach Steve Corrieri at practices.By the U14 campaign, the team (now the Metro Jaguars) were one of the better teams in Central Pennsylvania, and that corresponded to Coach Steve taking over the head coaching duties. They were regularly winning their respective league (York USA, Lanco, CPYSL) and tournaments (York Cup, Hempfield, South Penn, Redland, Red Rose, Chesapeake Cup).Coach Steve challenged the boys to take their game to another level, and by U16 they were the premier U16 team in Central Pennsylvania, regularly beating teams from Super Nova, PA Classics, HMMS, Lanco United, and LDC.The UK Soccer experience has benefited the team greatly, resulting in the first ever Metro team to make the EPYSA Outdoor State Cup semi-finals, and the first York area team in a long time. The team is now regarded as a top 4 team in the state. We look forward to continued success guided by UK Soccer and Coach Steve Corrieri.
