Dr. Correia is a staff physicist in the Division of Nuclear Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and he is an Associate Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School.

Passing a cameraman hiding behind bushes in front of his North Andover home, nuclear physicist Jack Correia enters his home unaware of the surprise about to befall him.

"It looked completely normal," he says."There were no signs of anything."

But Correia soon experiences a thrill when the stars of The Learning Channel's "While You Were Out" expose their clandestine carpentry for an episode airing Friday at 9 p.m.

While the crew sawed, sewed and painted, Correia and his wife, Nancy, spent two exhilarating days touring NASA under the impression that an acquaintance of Gabe's had won the free trip but couldn't miss work.

"Everyone put a lot of effort into trying to figure out what I would like," Correia says."It's very flattering, and humbling in a way.

And now that Jack Correia has spent about a month in his renovated study, he plans to maintain its look and add only more bookshelves.

"I always wanted a Harvard chair, but thought it would be something presumptuous to buy for myself," says Correia, who teaches at Harvard.He won the chair in one of three pop quizzes.
