Correll said she expects Watco locomotives to be utilized to a greater degree.
"It will help us better know the health of our locomotives and better schedule the use of the locomotives," Correll said."We hope there will be a reduction in long-term maintenance costs."
Although the Wi-Tronix system is currently only for two of Watco's 17 railroads, Correll said that if the system works as expected, Watco officials will analyze the benefits of adding it to further railroad systems.
