Separately, attorney Joseph Corrado, 48, of Pleasantville, has been charged with third degree grand larceny in an alleged theft from the escrow account of a Garden City client who hired Corrado to negotiate a loan refinancing.

Joseph Corrado, an investigator with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, said his agency is continuing to track child pornography offenders.

"It used to be that it was all sent through the mail, the tapes, the films," he said.

"Regardless of what people may think, they're not hidden," Corrado said."It just takes more time."

Investigations "focus on the end user," and they're often tracked by credit-card processing agencies, Corrado said.

Similar cases were investigated after December's Asian tsunami and the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, said Joe Corrado, spokesman for the postal inspection service.

"Most charities are legitimate but some people just see an opportunity and take advantage of it," he said.

The Postal Inspection Service can seek criminal charges or pursue an administrative process that shuts down a bogus operation, Corrado said.

The investigation revealed the briefcase contained business paperwork, said Joseph Corrado, a U.S. Postal Inspector.

Investigators will use information on the documents to try and determine how the briefcase got under the vehicle, as well as who left it there, Corrado said.

He said authorities were not sure if the briefcase was left there accidentally or intentionally.
