SAYRE - An identity theft prevention seminar was held at the Sayre Theatre Friday, presented by Joyce O'Brien, community liaison of public protection for the Attorney General's Office, and Inspector Joe Corrado of the United States Postal Inspection Service.

O'Brien and Corrado presented information to the audience about ways to prevent identity theft, stressing proactive measures.

"What we're trying to get you to do is take some of that stuff out of your wallet when you are going to the county fair, or going to church, that way if someone steals your wallet, they won't have as much of your information," Corrado said.

"What's inside that card is you - all the information the hotel got from you," Corrado said.Credit card information, addresses, phone numbers and other personal information gathered when hotel rooms are reserved is stored inside the key card, according to Corrado."Disney World requests their guests take the cards with them in order to protect them.Don't feel compelled to return them," Corrado said.
