   Susan Law Corpany
   
   Susan grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. A believer in lifelong education, she attended Utah State University and the University of Utah and is currently studying at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She also claims to have an honorary degree from the School of Hard Knocks. She lives on the Big Island of Hawaii with her husband, Thom. She has one son, a stepdaughter, four stepsons, and is the grandmother of a beautiful baby girl.
   
   With her husband, she has taught classes at BYU-Hawaii Education Week, and she even taught an impromptu class at BYU Education Week. When the class on humor was filled to overflowing and she and the additional 80 or so ladies in line were turned away, she quickly organized a "Class on the Grass." Skilled at having a Plan B, she taught the humor class she had done at BYU-H on the grounds of the church building so that the ladies did not go away empty-handed.
   
   She enjoys traveling, meeting new people, is an avid reader, and a prolific writer. She has four novels that have been published and several others in various stages of non-completion. She won the Imitation Erma Bombeck contest for her story "The Ghost of Housework Past" and was also a runner-up the following year for her story "Fictional Dirt," both of them stories about women who hate housework. (Go figure.) Last fall she completed the National Novel Writing Month challenge and wrote a 50,000 word novel during the month of November.
   
   She is a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and much of her writing is geared toward that community of saints. She has experienced many of the things she writes about, including young widowhood.
