Since back when Luis and I first began to plan what would be our First Annual Missions Conference at the beginning of this year for The New Life Baptist Bible Church we could not have dreamed of all that would be done for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ and His glorious gospel.
...
Luis and Mary Coronado said Lord willing their names would be on next year's program for the 2001 Missions Conference.
...
Luis is very much enthused and encouraged as God has done so much to bring us to a comfortable and established place in being able to make such a decision.

We also have seen the addition of a new ministry called "New Life in the Family" headed up by Pastor Coronado. It is centered around a weekly meeting that started up on the first Friday night of this month. We started with a men-only-meeting and we had 10 come out, PTL! We are excited about what God is going to do, particularly in the hidden areas of our lives. Pray for this ministry and especially for the men at this time. Pray we'll not be conformed to the worldly mold of "machismo" but rather we will be transformed to the loving servant leadership mold of Christ, all for the building of marriages and homes to the glory of God!

There is no doubt that many of you were praying for the special financial need that was presented concerning Pastor Luis Coronado. We are amazed at how God responded in double measure, as more than the amount needed was given and then an additional 5000 dollars came in, all right at the deadline! The offering that met the need was actually a $5300 anonymous gift. Another $300 gift that was given the month before by supporting friends in Georgia was included, making the total amount designated $5600. What a comfort to our hearts to see how God has provided for the Coronados right at their time of need. The money is already at work! Since the beginning of April the lien on the property was paid and the foundations for the house have recently been laid.

This house being built is a dream that Luis has had for so many years and is finally becoming a reality. Glory to God!
On the part of the Bailes and the Coronados there is a deep gratefulness to God for the co-laborers who gave so generously for this need. As well, we are ever thankful to God for so many others who support us and this ministry on a monthly basis. Paul also rejoiced when the Philippian believers time and again sent offerings for his needs, yet he made clear he was not wanting gifts for himself but desiring fruit that would abound to their account. Following Paul's example we must live content in whatever the circumstances, doing this through Christ who strengthens us. If we live this way we'll learn to thank God for you and to rejoice in your faithful giving ever desiring eternal profits that overflow to your account (PHILIPPIANS 4:10-20).
The question I'm sure that most are asking is, "What about the additional $5000 dollars?" We only trust that God is willing to see another pressing need met. After conferring with the donors on how the money could be utilized, without a second thought, it was concluded that the money would serve best in the future purchase of property for New Life.

In acquiring property an opportunity will be afforded us, by putting up a temporary building, the money now going towards rent ($500+) would be used for taking better care of Pastor Coronado and for further construction. We appeal to you once more and would ask for the support of those who are able and willing to help.

Luis Coronado preached and reminded us of many of the wonderful blessings that Christ has given us through His glorious resurrection.
We trust you and yours had special times, and most of all rejoiced in our glorious salvation through Christ Jesus our Lord. May He ever bless you as you live by His grace trusting each step of the way in Him. Phil 1:21& 3:7 - "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain . . . but what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ." May the Lord Jesus who is our very life be our only true treasure. WHATEVER IT TAKES may He be lifted up and praised through our total surrender to live holy lives in love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.
In His Love and Service,
Scott for all the Bailes here in Guatemala Christi, Kayla, Karli, Katey and Kari
P.S. We want to let you know that a "Bailes Bulletin" is soon to be going out and we will be letting you all know in detail of how God richly blessed to bring in the funds for Bro. Luis's land and house and for much more.

The week will continue with special music by Pastor Luis Coronado and by guest missionary, Kathy Hinds.

God gave us an experienced Bible school director in Pastor Luis Coronado's son, Luis Coronado Jr. (he worked for a number of years in VBS programs ministering to as many as 500 children a day). Working under his leadership we were able to put together an excellent week; it was truly the all around best that I have seen here in Latin America.
...
With your gifts and too our people giving through the whole month of November we were able to present a love offering to our Pastor Luis Coronado and his family so they could take a week's vacation. We also were able to see another collaboration once again with the church's giving and your offerings to purchase a much needed sound system. The church also came together to close out 1999 bringing benevolence offerings of food items and we filled up 4 laundry baskets. It was a time of sharing God's love in a personal and practical way by helping two families of our church and two other families outside of our church.
I want to communicate to you another opportunity to help in the ministry here. The help is for our national pastor, Luis Coronado, who just 2 weeks ago shared with us the urgent need concerning a piece of property. The land has belonged to Luis for more than 10 years and though he has always dreamed of building his own home there it has appeared to be less and less possible with each passing year.
Luis and Claudia and their 5 children are currently living on $300 that we are able to help them with monthly from the funds for the work, and along with doing some side jobs in carpentry Luis has just barely been making it. They are now in an even more needy situation. They had to move out of the house where they had been renting for Q800 (Quetzales) which would be a little more than $100 (dollars) a month. The owner wanted them to pay more, as do most Guatemalan landlords nowadays with the US Dollar getting stronger and the Quetzal getting weaker with each passing month. God has worked it out for them to live in another house rent-free for the first 3 months of the year and then it appears they will need to move again as they will not be able pay what the house rents for, Q1,200 a month. A lady in our church moved out of the house where she had apparently paid some months in advance and also left a deposit unclaimed in order to offer the Coronados a temporary solution.
...
With this pending action Luis and Claudia have turned to their family members and yet no help has come available. So they finally came to us and asked what we could do to help. I never have thought it appropriate to present to you every financial need that comes our way here, yet with the case of Pastor Luis I am compelled to do this. He has put his life in God's hands in a way unlike many other men I have seen here in the ministry. His dedication and passion as a pastor at New Life is the kind of commitment I want to honor, so I present to you his need. The amount of money for the mortgage is Q27,300 (that in US dollars will be around $3,500). In addition to this need is the need to build a house. Bro. Luis is dedicated to invest Q1,000 a month of his own salary toward construction (that is around US $125). He plans to do as much of the work as possible himself while paying a helper to work with him. Being realistic about the construction he knows that the only real chance to keep the job going on a constant basis will require that a substantial initial investment be made. For this reason he also has asked if we could consider their need of another Q20,000 (around $2,500) to invest into building his house. Therefore, there is a genuine need for $6,000.
To many of us on the States side this seems like an unrealistic amount of money to build a home, yet these amounts in US dollars compared to the Quetzal have become more favorable with each passing year. Also our people here live a much simpler life than most Americans and they have learned to get buy on a lot less. We are trusting the Lord for this need and have given $1000 toward paying off the mortgage. We now are asking you to consider helping with the remaining $5,000.
...
Any offerings sent should come through our BIMI account and with a reference to "Pastor Luis Coronado".
An additional way of responding to this need could be through a special missions trip to Guatemala with a construction crew. Plans could be made to come down within the next 3 to 4 months and to put up the walls of the house for the Coronados. I do pray that your participation in helping with this need will be given serious consideration and that it will result in a response of service for our dear national pastor. I believe with all my heart that this is a g -
