Steve Cornwell is a licensed CPA in the state of North Carolina and has practiced in the tax area since 1990.He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accounting from Virginia Tech. Before joining RTI International, he spent approximately nine years with KPMG in their federal and state and local tax practices, two years with GlaxoSmithKline as an audit defense consultant, and four years with the North Carolina Department of Revenue as an Administrative Appeals Officer.In the early 1990s, he was an officer and board member of the Roanoke, Virginia IMA Chapter.Topics for discussion:

STEVE CORNWELL JOINS DIXON ODOM'S SANFORD OFFICE

Sanford, NC, March, 2000 – Chuck Tew, managing partner of Dixon Odom's Sandhills region, has announced that Steve Cornwell has joined the firm's Sanford office as a Senior Tax Manager.In his new role with the firm, Cornwell will provide federal, state and local tax and consulting services to clients.

Bringing close to 10 years of public accounting experience to Dixon Odom, Cornwell previously worked with PriceWaterhouse Coopers for a year and a half and for KPMG for 8 years.At KPMG, he served as the North and South Carolina Tax Specialist for the firm and was responsible for the Carolinas State and Local Advocacy and Consulting Practice.During his career, Cornwell has participated in more than 30 state tax minimizations for financial institutions, manufacturers and retailers.In addition, this CPA has taught classes and given numerous seminars on tax issues.He also co-authored an article titled Interest on Deferred Taxes, which was featured in Tax Advisor.

Cornwell earned his Master of Accounting degree and his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech.He is a member of the Raleigh Tax Forum and the American Furniture Manufacturers Association Tax Council.This Washington D.C. native now resides in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina with his wife, Lori and son Cameron.

Steve Cornwell is a licensed Certified Public Accountant with over fifteen years experience with not-for-profit organizations and general tax planning and compliance.Steve earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accounting (Tax) at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, and is currently employed by the NC Department of Revenue as a Corporate Tax Administration Officer.Steve and wife Lori have lived in Fuquay-Varina since 1995, and their son Cameron attends the school.
