   Steve Cornmell has been promoted to partner in > b > Grant Thornton's forensic department. Cornmell joined E&Y in 1997 and is based in the firm's London forensic department. Prior to that , he has worked for the Serious Fraud Squad on a number of investigations and prosecutions and the DTI as an inspector.
   
   Chartered accountant Chris Booth has been appointed technical and compliance partner at accountancy firm McKellan & Co.. Booth , who trained and qualified with Big Five firm Ernst & Young , joined the McKellan & Co in June last year. He has also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers as an IT consultant.
