   Felixstowe editor Richard Cornwell is the only news reporter based in Suffolk's busy and bustling resort and port town.
   
   He joined the company as a junior reporter in 1980, working first at his home town office in Bury St Edmunds and transferring to Felixstowe in late 1982. He became chief reporter at Felixstowe in 1984 and has been covering the news in the seaside town ever since.
   
   Over the years he has covered thousands of stories - including major news such as the sinking of the European Gateway, security guard "Fast" Eddie Maher's theft of £1million from a town bank, and the murder of teenager Vicky Hall, and ran successful Evening Star campaigns such as Save the Bartlet, Close the A14 Gaps, Let's Put JJ Back in the Swim, and the campaign to build a memorial to Vicky Hall.
   
   As Felixstowe editor, Richard runs the Felixstowe edition of The Evening Star - an edition dedicated to bringing readers all the big news from the resort and port and its nearby villages, campaigning for local residents on the issues which are important to their lives, and featuring special columns and items of interest to the peninsula's people.
