The demand for enterprise content management technology continues to grow at a rapid pace across several industries , David Cornwell , CEO of CDC Solutions Ltd. , tells ECOMWORLD.
He says CDC , a privately held company with world headquarters in Chepstow , UK , expects its revenue to more than double this year , from $5 million in 2000 to about $12 million.Driving much of that growth , he says , is the increasing use of Extensible Markup Language applications. He notes that CDC is particularly strong in the life sciences industry , including large pharmaceutical companies turning toward electronic document transfer for submitting drug development papers to government agencies.Such documents can number 20 , 000 pages or more.
Cornwell says growth over the next few years may be driven by the move toward cumulative table of contents technology , or CTOC , which enables companies to submit large files of electronic documents organized by a table of contents with separate links to each of thousands of PDF ( personal document format ) electronic documents.
CDC ( www.cdcsolutions.com ) is working on a pilot CTOC project with Boehringer Ingelheim , a global pharmaceutical organization headquartered in Ingelheim , Germany , for electronic submissions of drug research papers to government agencies. The project is intended to meet pharmaceutical industry standards as well as the requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
