   "I have known Dianne for over 20 years, and I know she will serve the people of the 2nd Congressional District of Nevada well," Gibbons of Reno said in a news release.
   ...
   Cornwall was a county commissioner from 1987 to 1995, was on the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and was the first chairwoman of the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority. She also was executive director of the Washoe Medical Center Foundation.
   
   Cornwall replaces Betty Jo Vonderheide, who will continue to work in Gibbons' office in Elko.
