Linda Cornmesser, R.N., Director of Obstetrical Services at MCH said of the 152,000 babies born each year in Ohio, 500 of them will have hearing impairment. "Significant hearing loss is one of the most common abnormalities found in newborns. If left undetected, it will impede speech, language and cognitive development," Cornmesser explained.
In addition to providing first rate patient care, the BirthCare Center of Massillon Community Hospital offers a variety of classes for the entire family. Classes include Building a Healthy Baby, Childbirth, Breastfeeding, Kid's Class, Infant & Child CPR and Newborn Care. For more information about class dates and times, call 330-830-6985.
